Blue Devil on a New Playing Field

April 6th, 2010

April is Car Care Month

March 30th, 2010

Building long-lasting relationships?
As a consumer you will notice for Car Care Month that there will be several “free” car maintenance events where several garages have combined their forces to host a fair for Car Care. They will advertise this free service and give incentives to attend through raffles and charitable contributions. But be prepared if you attend that they will track you like a hawk. Nothing is free. And they are betting that they are building long-lasting relationships with you when really you are an entry into their constant contact data system. You can always unsubscribe to this service in the future. So the payout of a free evaluation isn’t all bad. Not to mention, you might really connect with your technician and trust his opinion for future work.

Ole Blue participates in Car Care events all the time since Ole Blue is the inexpensive fix to a major repair. The mechanic who recommends our products are genuinely building relationships because they would be making a heck of a lot more money replacing that part. Keep this in mind, when evaluating, “is this building long-lasting relationships?” Don’t subscribe to the free services of Car Care Events unless they provide quality garages that truly “care” about your car care.

Blue Devil in a NorthStar Engine

March 9th, 2010

Check out YouTube.com to see an installation video of the Blue Devil.  Our tech line always receives calls about the warning on the Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealant bottle that states, “NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NORSTAR SYSTEMS”.  This is due to the low flow system in these engines.  As you will notice from the YouTube video, the Blue Devil successfully sealed their leak in a Northstar system.  What you didn’t see is the mechanic pumping 12 units with a radiator pressure tool into the system.  Moreover, they bypassed the heater core to allow better circulation.  Complicated?  This is why we do not GUARANTEE use of the product in NorthStar Engines… not because it doesn’t work on those systems.

Healing the Reputation of Sealants -By Paul Fleury

February 7th, 2010

A new generation of stop leaks emerging in the marketplace is working hard to shed the old reputation of stop leaks as dangerous “snake oils” that do more harm than good. This includes an oil-based stop leak for mobile air conditioners (A/C) that reacts to oxygen while lubricating the system.

Red Angel from Universal Products is the only stop leak on the market that has the remarkable ability to permanently seal leaks in condensers, connection hoses, evaporators, gaskets and o-rings without clogging or damaging your recovery equipment. The main component of Red Angel is a high-grade synthetic oil that is attracted to oxygen instead of moisture at the leak point, therefore it will never crystallize, harden or gum up in the A/C system.
